Celebrating Women

Celebrating Women

On International Women’s Day, I’m reminded that I celebrate you every day.

You, the fierce, brilliant women who support one another and build community.

You are the ones I carve my talismans for.

Mothers, sisters, friends.
Muses, mentors, healers, leaders.

Women who create, who nurture, who lead, who dare, who begin again.

You make our world brighter with your light.

My jewelry may begin with my hands sculpting wax in my studio, but it lives far beyond that first gesture. Its meaning grows through the women who choose these symbols and carry them through the many chapters of their lives.

I see this all the time.

A ring chosen to celebrate a promotion.
A charm worn during a period of transformation.
A talisman carried as a reminder of resilience.

Many of the women who collect my jewelry choose it for themselves.  And I love that.

Not as an indulgence, but as a recognition, a moment of alignment with who they are and who they are becoming.

Where a Talisman Begins

Jewelry has carried meaning for thousands of years. Across cultures and civilizations, people have worn symbols to express identity, protection, memory, and power.

Talismans speak that language beautifully.

Empowerment is a word we hear often, but for me it has a very specific meaning.

Stepping into your own power requires first seeing it, knowing it, recognizing it, and claiming it before you can truly use it.

No one can hand that power to us.

It already lives within us.

That belief shapes every talisman I carve.

The symbols I sculpt in wax are meant to serve as reminders, small anchors worn close to the body to reconnect with strength, intuition, protection, and courage.

Talismans play that role in my own life as well.

Like many women, I move through many worlds in a single day: artist, business owner, collaborator, mentor, friend, lover. Some days require courage. Others call for patience, clarity, or resilience.

The symbols I carve often become companions in that process.

When I wear one of my talismans, it helps me ground into the energy it represents. A reminder to trust my intuition. To speak my truth. To stand firmly in the choices I have made.

Not because the jewel gives me power, but because it helps me remember that the power is already there.

That moment of remembering can be surprisingly transformative.

A small symbol resting against the skin can shift how we move through the world. It can steady us before an important conversation. It can remind us of our values when things feel uncertain. It can reconnect us to the deeper intentions guiding our lives.

Over time, these symbols gather layers of meaning.

They travel with us through milestones, transitions, risks taken, and new paths discovered. They quietly witness our evolution.

This is the magic of talismans.

They anchor something intangible — strength, protection, intuition, courage — into a physical form we can carry with us.

The Power of Community

Women who create, who nurture, who lead, who dare, who begin again.

I see these qualities constantly in the women who surround my work.

Community plays an enormous role in that story.

In my experience, women support and empower each other most powerfully through community, through friendship, mentorship, shared knowledge, and shared courage. When women gather around meaningful work, something extraordinary happens. Confidence grows. Opportunities expand. Possibilities multiply.

I have experienced this again and again throughout my career.

Through the collectors who share their stories with me when they choose a jewel. Through the friendships and mentorship that shape the jewelry world. Through industry organizations where women support one another’s growth and leadership.

And through initiatives like Reciprocity Jewels, where designers collaborate directly with artisanal mining communities in Peru. Our partner miners are women-led, a powerful reminder that women are reshaping the jewelry industry at every stage of the supply chain.

Experiences like these remind me that jewelry does not exist in isolation.

It lives within relationships.

The jewel begins with the hands that carve it, but its story continues through the people who wear it, share it, and pass it forward.

Empowered Women Empower Women

The phrase may sound simple, but its truth is profound.

Every time a woman supports another woman’s work, something shifts. A business grows. A craft continues. A voice becomes stronger.

Community creates momentum.

I feel deeply grateful for the community of women that gathers around this work, friends, collectors, collaborators, mentors, and women I have not yet met.

Whether you already wear one of my talismans or are simply drawn to the meaning behind them, you are part of this circle.

Thank you for sharing your light with me.

The women who wear these talismans.
The women who share them with friends.
The women who bring intention, courage, and curiosity into their lives.

Women who create, who nurture, who lead, who dare, who begin again.

Every talisman begins in my hands, sculpted slowly in wax.

But its real life begins when a woman chooses to carry it and make it part of her story.

Empowered women empower women.

And may we always shine our light as only we can.

With love and Gratitude,

Delphine
