Frequently Asked Questions

Ancient wisdom and the wild poetry of nature, hand-sculpted in gold for everyday magic.

Below are answers to common questions about Delphine Leymarie jewelry, from inspiration and craftsmanship to ordering and care.

About the Work

What inspires Delphine Leymarie jewelry?

Delphine’s work lives at the intersection of sculpture, ritual, and nature.

Each jewel begins as a spark, a feeling that moves through her hands and takes form through the ancient art of lost-wax carving. It’s where sculpture meets ritual, where emotion transforms into gold and thought becomes jewelry.

Her inspiration flows from two worlds.

The sunlit Mediterranean shores of her childhood taught her reverence for the wild poetry of nature: wind carving sand, moonlight dancing on waves, stars guiding the night.

New York City brought another rhythm entirely. Its electric energy, movement, and constant transformation pushed her to refine her craft and create with fearless intention.

Every jewel emerges from that dialogue between the two — ancient wisdom and modern life, stillness and motion, nature and city.

Why do many Delphine Leymarie jewels feature symbols?

Symbols have always been part of how Delphine experiences the world.

Guided by the rhythms of nature and the cycles of the cosmos, she is drawn to forms that have carried meaning across cultures and centuries: the serpent, the shell, the lotus, the moon, the star, and the skull, her favorite reminder to cherish life and embrace transformation.

Delphine carves her own interpretations of these symbols by hand in wax, translating the wild poetry of nature and the language of intuition into sculptural form.

Many of these symbols are rooted in the natural world — the sea, the moon, the creatures and forms that have guided human imagination for centuries.

Why are your jewels described as talismans?

Delphine sees jewelry as a way to give form to intention.

Each piece begins as a sculpture carved by hand, then cast in precious metal using the ancient lost-wax technique. Through this process, emotion becomes sculpture and sculpture becomes gold.

Gold, a natural conductor, carries intention forward while gemstones amplify it.

Many collectors choose these pieces as personal talismans: objects that carry meaning, mark a moment, or hold energy close to the body.

Jewelry, like magic, is deeply personal. Its meaning evolves with the wearer over time.

How should I choose the right talisman?

There is no single way to choose a talisman.

Some people feel an immediate connection to a symbol. Others discover meaning gradually as they wear a piece and make it part of their lives.

Delphine believes jewelry should feel like you. It should carry meaning, memory, and energy.

If you would like guidance, you are always welcome to reach out. Delphine often helps collectors explore the symbolism of different pieces and find the one that resonates most with them.

Craft & Materials

How is Delphine Leymarie jewelry made?

Delphine begins each jewel by hand-carving a sculpture in wax in her Manhattan studio.

New York casting specialists transform that carving into precious metal using the traditional lost-wax casting technique.

The metal casting then returns to Delphine’s bench, where she restores the details of the original carving and completes the final finishing and polishing by hand.

Because every jewel originates from a hand carving, the texture and character of the sculpture remain visible in the finished piece.

Where is Delphine Leymarie jewelry made?

Delphine Leymarie jewelry is created and crafted in New York City.

Delphine carves each design in wax in her sunlit studio. The carvings are cast locally in Manhattan and the final finishing and polishing are completed by hand.

The work is produced in collaboration with skilled New York artisans who specialize in high jewelry work.

What metals do you use?

Delphine Leymarie jewelry is crafted in 14k and 18k gold alloys and sterling silver. We do not produce gold-plated or gold-filled jewelry.

We primarily work with recycled precious metals, and many designs are also available upon request in Fairmined gold, which supports responsibly managed small-scale mining communities.

Will my jewelry look exactly like the photos?

Each Delphine Leymarie jewel is handcrafted.

Natural gemstones and artisanal processes mean that small variations occur from piece to piece. These differences are part of handmade work and make each jewel unique.
